This is the prom dress I made for my granddaughter. It was made from her great-grandmother’s wedding dress pattern, with some changes. She didn’t want the skinny waist and ruffles and no train. This dress is heavy. It has 18 yards of fabric around the hem of the skirs. 6 yds of glitter organza, 6yds of satin, and 6 yds of lining. The top of the skirt was fully gathered. It was a challenge but fun.
I am a painter and a quilter. Sometimes I combine the two. I would like to share my art ideas.

A better quilt instruction I hope
The last one was a disaster. I guess that’s what happens when I’m trying to get something done before I go to bed and don’t really know what I am doing. Another day and things are going much better, I think. The images can be enlarged for reading the directions. That works. I’ve never tried to print a blog so I don’t know if that will work or not. Anyway, this one is much better.

Optical Star Quilt
I like to design quilts. Sometimes that is more fun than making them. This one is an exception. I had to try it. Here is the directions. I hope they are clear enough. If not, let me know. It is hard to write directions, especially with pictures. This is all new to me.

Garden Shed
I finally finished the garden shed fabric and thread picture. Lots of thread embellishment on this one.
