I started this last night so it is in the rough stages. I did a watercolor of this windmill at on of Pleine Air painting sessions last summer. I thought it would make a nice fabric art piece. The last fabric art picture took me a year to complete, I don’t think this one will take quite that long. We’ll see.
I am a painter and a quilter. Sometimes I combine the two. I would like to share my art ideas.

For Big Red fans
I found the shirt at a thrift shop and decided it would make a good Husker Spirit quilt. As you can see, I made this one with three colors. I like the result.

The garden cart is finished
Had some problems with this one. When I was thread painting the wheel, I didn’t have the fabric held tight enough. The background fabric puckered terribly. I cut away the background fabric around the lower half, and added a new background for the ground area. I like it so much better than the grey. I think that was the whole reason I wasn’t happy with it at first. But now, after a year of hanging on my project board, it is now finished.
Now on to the next one.

Started and completed today.
This is a wall hanging approx. 12x18” The bottle is painted onto the cloth with watercolor pencils. The stem is also. The flower is fabric. I cut around the bottom of the bottle and sewed it onto the fabric below to look like it was sitting on a table.

Latest project Painted Daisy
This project was created at the request of the owner of quilt shop. She had seen some of my fabric painted cars and wants to have a class showing how I do this. I created this fairly easy project for the class which will be held in April. It is about 12” square and didn’t take me very long to complete.
